    Hello Everyone!

For those of you who have attended meditation classes and gatherings at SportsFocus, I am offering an opportunity to view 8 hours of Pema Chodron's Walk the Walk:Working With Habits & Emotions in Daily Life Video of the workshop she recently conducted at Omega Institute in October of this year. Here is a brief description of the workshop:

Even though we may be able to “talk the talk” about awakening and the spiritual life, the most important point is to be able to “walk the walk” and put the teachings into practice on the spot in good and difficult times.

“There is a saying that the teacher is always with us,” Pema Chödrön says. “The teacher is always showing us precisely where we are at and encouraging us to relax and open our hearts and minds, encouraging us to not speak and act in the same old stuck ways, encouraging us also not to repress or dissociate. The teacher knows that our habitual responses are never going to bring us the happiness we seek.”

In this workshop appropriate for helping professionals as well as nonprofessionals, Pema Chödrön explores some of Buddhism’s most fundamental yet most profound wisdom to show us how to “walk the walk.”

So, I am thinking about holding this 8 hour viewing in 2-3 "chunks" sometime between Friday 11/22/13 at 7 PM and Sunday the 24th at noon. Our space will comfortably accomodate approximately 25 so this offer is open to the first 25 that commit. Any money donated over that weekend viewing will be forwarded to the Pema Chodron Foundation.

So are you available at these times and interested in viewing this event with your sangha? If so, what times would work best for you over those 3 days. Please let me know even if you are not available or not interested so that I might be able to continue to plan.

    Thanx!
    Rich

    Hi Rich,

Thank you so much for hosting this. Friday night and anytime during the day on Saturday would be the best times for me ... I hope this timing works for the others who are interested in participating. Would it be possible to come to some of the sessions if we are not able to make them all?

ABSOLUTELY Lesley! I was hoping, perhaps naively, to find times that everyone might be able to attend, but certainly those who choose to attend could come and go as their availability permits. Thanx for your expeditious response Lesley!

    Hello Again Everyone!

Okay, so we will begin viewing Pema's workshop THIS Friday night (11/22/13) at 7:00 PM sharp and continue most likely until 10-10:30. We will then continue viewing the following morning at 9:30 after our usual meditation class and continue until complete probably in the 2:00 PM range. Please bring a brown bag lunch for yourself as we will break somewhere along the way Saturday. Please feel free to attend as much or as little as your schedule allows.

For those of you intending to attend please let me know if you haven't already. Hope to see you Friday night at SportsFocus Physical Therapy before 7:00 PM!

    Rich
